Interprets drawings to write basic programs using CAD/CAM technologies for CNC machine that calculates cutting speeds and feeds in order to generate quality parts in accordance with production standards. Monitors and verifies the accuracy of each new job’s initial set-up and final outcome. Assists in the solution of complex CNC operating problems. Communicates with supervisor to resolve machining or quality issues. Troubleshoots out of tolerance parts to help determine correct manufacturing process. Trains new employees on set-up and procedures Helps fill in operating machined when others are out Performs ancillary duties as needed

High School or equivalent Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment, and basic knowledge of CNC Programming. Advanced knowledge of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Instruments should include but not limited to calibers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gauges, indicators and tape measures. Advanced knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with an understanding of geometric tolerance and dimensions. Working knowledge of various tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, and inserts used on various machines.
