Planning: Develop long term manufacturing strategy as part of the organization strategy based on changing product portfolio, targeted volumes for both domestic and international market of product and aggregates and current production capacities and capability; Identify avenues for capacity expansion; Identify technology change requirements and propose to the leadership team for approval; Create roadmap to develop manufacturing capability in order to meet production volumes and quality standards in line with business objectives.Production Management: Provide directional inputs to subordinates to improve production parameters; Track critical production issues and trends; Guide and monitor corrective action plans; Share best practices and success across teams; Facilitate cross-functional coordination for resolving issues in Car division; Address escalated supplier issues, and jointly with Purchase, decide on corrective actions, follow up plan and risk mitigation plans; Monitor total manufacturing cost and drive corrections wherever required in order to achieve targeted production volumes as per cost and quality targets.Quality Management: Monitor production quality levels based on parameters being tracked by the Quality function; Understand key quality issues and guide development of correction plans; Drive integration of quality improvement processes and quality tracking measures into manufacturing processes with inputs from Quality function in order to minimise defect rates and improve customer satisfaction.New Product Implementation: Set up systems and processes for implementation of new product plan post approval; Operationalize and monitor on-the-ground activities such as setting up of the body shop, tooling and equipment setup for the new product; Create a manpower estimate for the new product and drive the recruitment process in coordination with HR; Equip production team members with the requisite skills through structured training in order to add to the organisation’s portfolio of existing products within timelines and budget.People Management: Design functional structure; Assist HR in recruitment of vacant positions; Conduct performance review and planning; Coach, mentor and develop subordinates; Provide development and growth opportunities for identified talent; Evaluate skill levels and work with HR team to drive and support training and development; Resolve escalated people issues in order to build a high-performing and motivated team.
