Performs routine and complex maintenance and repairs of all building structures, electrical systems, equipment, and grounds as needed Conducts regular preventative maintenance tasks on mechanical equipment and systems, including inspecting belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, lubricating bearings and seals and repairing or replacing damaged components Performs general interior maintenance to replace broken windows, repairs doors, locks and closets Conducts monthly inspections of building, equipment, grounds and maintains detailed records of all scheduled maintenance activities Performs non-licensed repairs on facility mechanical equipment, including HVAC systems and exhaust fans. Responds to emergency maintenance requests, including off hours response as needed Assists other departments as requested, including building office equipment, moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies. Obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts, and orders parts as needed. Oversee scheduling and coordination with outside vendors for maintenance and improvement projects Provides oversight and limited supervision to Contractors and Public Service Workers during assigned projects as needed. Assists in janitorial duties as necessary to meet department goals. Performs ancillary duties as required.
High School Diploma or equivalent. Five years of progressive experience in facilities maintenance and repair; plumbing and electrical, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience. Moderate computer experience (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, other software as required) Strong skills in the use of hand and power tools. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills Ability to read and comprehend drawings, simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to carry out detailed and involved written or oral instructions. Ability to prioritize tasks Ability to operate a forklift, scissor lift, boom lift or other mobility equipment as necessary. Valid driver’s license.
