Responsible for the overall design, construction, functionality, on-time delivery, and profitability of the Custom Systems Department. Performs direct customer contact to identify opportunities for new systems and support for existing systems. Responsible for accepting or rejecting customer requests based on available resources, know-how, and business case. Develops and approves cost data to support the Sales Department with setting C/S sales prices. Develops written proposals in response to qualified customer requests for quotes (RFQs). Oversees the selection of, and qualifies components used in custom systems. Oversees the development and retention of software/firmware for custom systems. Responsible for adequate custom system documentation for performance verification, service and/or replication. Responsible for assisting Customer Service with any field installation/repairs, warranty, or service issues on Custom Systems solutions globally. Hires and manages an appropriate and competent staff for Custom Systems department. Manages personnel development to improve available skills and capabilities. Keeps up-to-date about global regulatory requirements and ensures compliance. Familiar with the design theory and operation of all Mensor pressure products. Coordinates with Sales and Marketing to promote the growth of custom systems. Supports the written quality objectives as stated in the Quality Manual of the company. Supports, maintains and participates in continuous improvement and 5S initiatives. Supports the corporate and department goals. Performs other duties as requested by the Director of Engineering.

Four-year Engineering or Technical degree Five years of systems design experience Embedded programming experience a plus Familiarity with Linux operating systems and GUI screen design Familiarity with MRP systems related to sales orders, jobs, routes and bills of material Experience with software revision control systems a plus Ability to effectively communicate with international customers, reps and subsidiaries. Ability to provide accurate quotations for custom systems in a timely manner Ability to identify and solve technical problems Must be capable of working with minimum supervision Must be capable of maintaining order in documentation
