Provides Emergency/Unscheduled repairs of equipment. Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment. Observes equipment in operation to determine malfunction. Inspects used parts to determine replacement or upgrade of material. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments. Repairs or replaces defective parts. Install special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts. Starts devices to test their performance. Maintains industrial machines. Services the electrical equipment at WIKA, concerning both machines and electrical cables in the building (lighting, etc.) Designs electrical equipment, components, and systems for industrial purposes. Develops application of controls and systems for new industrial uses. Installs electrical equipment. Maintains electrical equipment. Troubleshoots PLC programs. Reads and interprets equipment manuals and drawings. Performs electrical troubleshooting and installation intermittently. Complies with OSHA Safety and Health Rules Performs ancillary duties as assigned or needed by Maintenance Manager/Supervisor

Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or Technical School and five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, drawings, and schematics. Must have PLC working knowledge. Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse team of technical and non-technical personnel. Ability to take on a lead role for short term projects and see through to completion with minimal supervision. Knowledge of National Electrical Codes Experience using various electrical test equipment e.g. multimeter, oscilloscope, ampere probe etc. etc. Understanding European electrical schematics and setup is a plus. Siemens Simatic Steep 7(200/300/1200 series PLC’s) with HMI controls experience is a plus. Must have the ability to write routing reports and correspondence. Have ability to speak effectively before groups. Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Able to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Technicians must have the ability to use logic and reasoning to reach a solution to problems. Mechanical and electrical experience required. Pneumatic and hydraulic experience is required. Good mechanical skills, good electrical skills, and manufacturing experience preferred, especially if it was in a “lean” environment. Technicians must have the ability to monitor performance and be able to make improvements or take corrective action.
