Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring processes are documented, controlled, current, and consistently applied across departments in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 17025. Lead investigations into non-conformances, customer complaints, process deviations and incidents, applying structured root-cause analysis (e.g., 5-Why, Fishbone, FMEA) and defining effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Own CAPA tracking, governance, escalation and timely closure; verify effectiveness and drive actions to completion with operational teams. Plan and conduct internal audits; coordinate external audits and support audit readiness activities, ensuring findings are addressed and audit performance improves. Manage calibration and equipment control systems, including scheduling, records, traceability, overdue escalation, and identification of equipment at risk of impacting product conformity. Provide day-to-day quality support to production/operations, including first-line problem solving, process verification/validation support, and containment activities where required. Support supplier quality management, including supplier evaluation, performance monitoring, risk assessments, follow-up of supplier corrective actions, and participation in/coordination of supplier audits. Support QHSE compliance activities, including contributing to H&S risk assessments, safe systems of work, and investigation/close-out of H&S actions and compliance-driven initiatives. Deliver or support quality and compliance communication/training to improve procedural adherence and promote a proactive quality and safety culture. Monitor, analyse and report on key quality and compliance metrics (e.g., NCRs, CAPA status, audit actions, supplier performance, calibration adherence), highlighting trends and recommending improvement actions. Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders across our sites in Irlam and Tyneside to prioritise risk, reduce cost of poor quality (scrap/rework/returns), and support continuous improvement aligned with business objectives.
