Description: The primary responsibility of the Product Engineer is to set up, maintain and manage assigned production lines, including the ERP system, tooling, and production throughput, while providing technical support to sales, service and customers for products assigned by the Director of Operations. General Responsibilities: Support the written quality objectives as stated in the Quality Manual of the company. Responsible for maintaining and improving 5S standards of workplace organization and actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives, projects, and events. Provide production input to design engineering in the developmental stages of products to maximize production efficiency and serviceability. Perform Pre-Pilot and Pilot runs on new products assigned and teach Production Technicians the required processes. ECN (Engineering Change Notice) creation, integration and completion when changes are required for assigned product lines. Enter, maintain, and update BOMs (Bill of Materials) within the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system. Monitor and report potential trends, issues and/or failures to the Director of Operations and Engineering. Notify the Director of Operations of any actual or potential issues that could adversely affect current or future production schedules. Provide technical support internally and externally to customers with complete knowledge of the assigned product lines. Complete MC-024 (Sales Specials) in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure correctness and completeness of work instructions and similar documents for the assigned products. Work with Engineering to ensure all assembly and sub-assembly drawings are up to date and correct. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical field. Must be familiar with general production processes and methods. Must be proficient in PC-based applications and able to effectively utilize the company’s ERP and manufacturing systems. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Must be capable of working with minimal supervision. Must have good interpersonal skills. Must have very good communication skills and organizational abilities. Must be able to effectively communicate production issues to management and to Production Technicians. Must desire to resolve problems completely, timely, and thoroughly. Must have the ability to anticipate potential problems. C++ programming knowledge preferred
