The Area Sales Manager will be primarily responsible for the sales development of the WIKA MRO customer base      within their assigned territory. They will also look to target new customers and business opportunities within the territory, using a ‘Walking the plant’ selling approach.  It is expected that the Area Sales Manager will visit customers in person or virtually 4 days per week by appointment. There will be times where it will be necessary to attend meetings and training in any of WIKA’s facilities in the UK and Europe.  Proactively support existing customer accounts within their assigned territory.  Be responsible for the individual sales area performance compared with the agreed sales targets.  Actively develop a strategic focus on developing new business in the area of responsibility utilising modern tools              and establishing future potential.  Support the development of new accounts to increase market share in all strategically important market segments.  Take full ownership and management of the opportunity and quote follow up processes for your customer accounts.  Understand the business, market and future development plans of the main potential and existing accounts within the territory.  Use the company CRM systems for all appointments, activities and customer reports whilst keeping the records up to date.  Actively participate in all required company meetings and follow through all actions within the agreed time scales.  Be prepared to make proposals and communication, particularly where the response has been initiated by you.  Be responsible for margin management and price agreements where necessary.  Work with the Internal Support Team to maximise opportunities, be effective and operate in the most efficient way.  Organise all activities to maximise sales development time and communication with existing and potential customers.  Represent WIKA Instruments and its company culture in a professional, credible and sincere manner.  To work with the Company on other projects and assignments where appropriate.

Must be passionate, ambitious, self-motivated and have an appetite to succeed. Must have excellent technical knowledge and understanding of process instrumentation. Advantageous to have an understanding of the WIKA portfolio and services. Must have knowledge and understanding of the process industry and process applications with the ability to demonstrate up selling and cross selling activities and techniques. Must be able to communicate with high impact. Must have a proactive sales and customer driven mind-set and possess a “Hunter” sales mentality. Must have the confidence and ability to present in front of an audience. Must have a high willingness to travel, high mobility. A full and valid UK driving license is essential. Must consider customer challenges from different perspectives (technical, commercial and logistical). Must have the ability to work independently and at the same time work closely with a proactive, driven                        and experienced engineering sales team.  Must possess excellent organisational skills. Must be computer literate and have experience working with CRM systems. Advantageous to have experience in exploiting social media platforms to benefit the company. Must be flexible and be willing to work additional hours where workload permits. Must have a proven sales record within a similar engineering field. A higher qualification in a technical mechanical or electrical discipline would be advantageous.
